Working with a Psychotherapist
It is important to feel comfortable with the psychotherapist or counsellor you work with. I understand that you may want to know a little more about me before deciding to work together.
I am registered and fully accredited with both the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Association of Core Process Psychotherapy (ACPP). I have been working with clients in private practice since 2018. I hold a Masters Degree (MA) in Mindfulness Based Core Process Psychotherapy awarded by Middlesex University in collaboration with The Karuna Institute. Prior to undertaking my MA, I completed a foundation certificate in Counselling & Psychotherapy at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling.
Psychotherapy training is necessarily thorough and long-term, taking a number of years. It covers in depth a variety of different theoretical approaches to therapy, so that we can work together in the way that best suits you.
My Background
My professional background started in management consulting, having worked as a senior manager in the People and Change practice for Price Waterhouse Coopers and KPMG for nearly 20 years. Throughout my career I worked one to one as a leadership coach and mentor, with both clients and colleagues, an aspect of my work I genuinely loved and enjoyed.
In both my corporate career and work as a psychotherapist, I have seen the value and importance of a supporting, helping relationship, formed on a bond of mutual respect and trust. My approach will enable you to be fully involved in shaping the therapy process, and to feel truly engaged in every step you take towards your happiness. I am very clear in explaining to my clients what I offer and how I work. Most importantly, feedback from my clients is invaluable to me, and I will ask you for your views and opinions throughout the journey we take together.
UKCP Registered
I work in accordance with the UKCP Ethical Principles and Code of Professional Conduct. All of my work is conducted under weekly supervison by an experienced, accredited UKCP supervisor.
